Quotes – Write.
Sometimes I ask myself, “why do I write”? I think the answer is different for everyone. We all do a great many things in life to satisfy the needs of others, often with a complete disregard for ourselves. It happens. We should remember to also shower ourselves with that same attention. It starts here. Inside of you. Whatever creative pursuit that you embark upon, do it for YOU first…don’t do it to suit the needs of someone else. Don’t tailor it to match someone else’s vision. Don’t do it for page views and likes. Do your thing, and give it the attention that it deserves. Throw all that doubt to the wind. Stay creative.

Sometimes, many different flavors can combine to create one larger, greater concoction. Such is the case with this week’s space. This room is somewhat of a gumbo; many varied elements and premises all tossed carefully and creatively into one large stew pot. We’ve got some comfort elements (plush chairs and a sofa) for maxing and relaxing, a studious little nook (a great little desk and window pairing) for taking care of business, a fireplace for a little heat and crackle, and a mass of books so large that this room could double as the east wing of your local library. It has it all, and it just works. This is without a doubt a book lover’s room. Let the daydreams commence.
Quotes – Wealth.
We live in a society that glorifies wealth of the material sort. It’s ingrained in the culture and broadcast in a variety of media, and it invariably flickers like a beacon in our subconcious minds. It’s quite subliminal. But wealth comes in many, many forms; true wealth doesn’t shine like a freshly waxed Lambo, or a newly minted Bulgari timepiece. True wealth comes from inside. Stay well, friends.

Is it just a room, or is it something more? At first glance, one may not celebrate its ambiance. At first glance, it looks like, well…just a room. Nothing more than a bed and a window; but what’s on the surface can often be deceiving. What’s celebrated here is simplicity; in the rugged, organic structure of the bed, complemented thoughtfully by the sturdy nightstand, all while gently being watched over by a minimal floor lamp. But all of that frames the highlight of the space…the window. That lush, sylvan view adds just a touch of beautiful complication to the stillness. Let the daydreams commence.
Light your fire, grab your coffee (or wine), snag your book…and cozy up to the warmth of this week’s great wintry space.

Quotes – Simplicity.
Life can be complicated; we all know this firsthand. How much of it is of our own doing? The appreciation of simplicity has been around for ages; renowned 16th century poet and Earl of Surrey Henry Howard (an unfortunate victim of Henry VIII’s rage) remarked that one of the “things that cause a quiet life” are “true wisdom joined with simpleness”. Sage words. Great concept. Let’s see if we can make simplicity the new complicated. Stay creative.

What elements constitute a legendary home library? A few books? A handful of bookshelves? Some unique architectural elements that most folks can only dream of? Some home setups have all of the above, and then some. This week’s pick is that sort; a truly immense space, stacked to the rafters full of books, a space reminiscent of a true library rather than one tucked away in a home. One would definitely have to up one’s book acquisition game in order to fill the gang of space on those shelves! Let the daydreams commence.
