‘Who you were’ or ‘where you were’ in life – we think about these things often, but they don’t have the impact that we think they do.
We tend to give more credence to the past than it deserves. What matters is right now – who we are now and where we are right now says more about us than all the yesterdays that we give importance to.
We expect a lot from other people. We sometimes expect others to bring their A game to the table….to be better friends, companions, coworkers, or family members. But are we doing the same? If we’re going to expect these behaviors from other people, we’ve got to first develop them in ourselves.
In life, gratitude is the name of the game. Every single day – live it, embody it, reflect it. There is much to be thankful for.
Silence has a voice too, if you’re tuned in to hear it.
Don’t be afraid to find your voice. Find it, develop it, and put it to work. With so much going on in the world right now, it’s important to have a voice – and to use it.
Ultimately, we tell the mirror what to say. Whether we love ourselves or hate ourselves, the mirror only speaks into existence the ideas that we feed it.
If you’re thinking about a goal, there is no ‘perfect’ time. Why not right now? Just a thought.
I’ve been trying to drill my way through a massive slab of writer’s block lately, so here’s a little random word sketching that I scribbled out to get the wheels turning. Thanks for reading.
Tired eyes don’t have the brightest world view.
Think about it. All too often, we suppress those very things that give us the most…our dreams, our goals, talents, passions, hobbies, etc. They get buried under obligation, under fear, and under doubt; but what if we put them at the forefront and gave them room to grow?
