Something about this week’s space conjures warmth. Warm, calm feelings. Afternoon sunshine, coffee, tea, friends and family. It’s a simple space with small, thoughtful details, subtle accouterments, and large glass, allowing the nature to slip in seamlessly. There’s quiet here, and peace. And books. Let the daydreams commence.

Some rooms are cozy…some are minimally sparse…some evoke peace, some exude class…others just make you want to get down to business. This week’s space would inspire me to get all old school and break out the typewriter (yes, typewriter), light the ol’ pipe, throw a few ice cubes in the tumbler, and get to work. It’s a slightly cramped, lived in space, but it’s that worn ambiance that gives it a dose of true character. This room has seen and heard many stories; this room has life. It’s certainly a book lover’s room. Let the daydreams commence.

Freshness. In a word, this week’s space conjures up the word ‘freshness’. Maybe it’s the cool richness of the hardwood floor, or the warm natural light flushing in from the large windows. Either way, it is fresh, ambitious, creative, and far from ordinary. Books stacked all the way to a tiled ceiling, accompanied by comfy little bed. The perfect combination. If only the words in those books would visit the sleeper each night…what wonderful dreams they’d create. This is most certainly a book lover’s room. Let the daydreams commence.

How sparse is too sparse? How minimal can a room be before it becomes sterile and utterly devoid of comfort? That’s a fine line, and it’s different for us all. This week’s space is my kind of space (I do love them all, though); clean lines, minimal elements, and large windows. The perfect way to be mindful of the present; the perfect space to clear your head, gather your thoughts, and enjoy the endless beauty beyond the windows. Let the daydreams commence.
Light your fire, grab your coffee (or wine), snag your book…and cozy up to the warmth of this week’s great wintry space.

I almost feel compelled to whisper when looking at this week’s space. Maybe it’s the internal simplicity, providing a subtle, quiet, meditative peace, or the warmth of the wood contrasting brilliantly with the outer cold, or maybe it’s just the expansive majesty of that view. Either way, I won’t babble on too much and spoil it. Let the daydreams commence.

This week’s space says a lot, without having to say too much. And in that vein, I won’t say too much about it. A space like this has the visual power to speak for itself, in its clean, unobstructed lines, a sparseness that opens up the room and allows it to breathe in the ample sunlight, and a layout that positively emphasizes the remaining surrounding elements. And not to mention, there’s a beautiful nook dedicated to the owner’s impressive book collection. That’s the cherry on top. Let the daydreams commence.

Sometimes a room is sleek and clean and minimal. Other times, it’s bold and breathtaking and thought provoking. And then there are times when it’s so outlandishly ridiculous, that it becomes instantly amazing. This week’s space is that sort of room. The owner of this home obviously has a mountain of books, and perhaps minimal horizontal space in which to expand. So what do you do? Go up. This vertically dominant room soars to the heavens in a dangerously curious way. It’s design is peculiar, dangerous, but rather creative, and either way, the owner’s precious book collection remains intact and precariously accessible (by way of a twenty foot ladder). This is certainly a book lover’s room. Let the daydreams (or nightmares for those afraid of heights) commence.

Some rooms just ooze class; whether it’s in the furnishings, the layout, the way the sun filters in during the afternoon, or the way the moonlight slips through at night. It’s so easy to recognize interior beauty when the exterior grandeur is on point, and this room exemplifies that premise. An incredible view, revealing magnificent snowy peaks, serves as a backdrop to a space replete with class, character, and charm. Bring on the whiskey, coffee, and whatever else you’ve got. Let the daydreams commence.
