Library Lusting.
If you’ve read a Library Lusting post before, and also lust after the quiet solace and beauty that book filled spaces provide, then you’ll know that I am an appreciator of A., books, and B., sunshine. They just work. This week’s space provides ample amounts of both, and throws in a sizable work space to boot. One could not only get their read on, but also their write. This, friends, is a book lover’s room. Enjoy!
Poems from the Vault – You are Adventure.
Poetry – Summer Sun.
SnowPorn.
Wow. Few things in life are better than a great place to sleep, crisp mountain air, and a view that just makes you salivate. Put the two together, and it’s an instantaneous sensory explosion. This week’s space has character, class, and a rustic calm that would tingle any nature lover’s palate. Waking up to this view would be….heavenly.
Light your fire, grab your coffee (or wine), snag your book…and cozy up to the warmth of this week’s great wintry space.
Poems – Create.
While sipping the coffee this morning and thinking about my list of projects and to do’s, I thought about the importance of seeing my little ideas to fruition. There was a time in my life when I didn’t realize how content I’d become with just thinking about ideas (and not doing a damn thing about them)…as if those ideas would just magically materialize out of thin air like some Harry Potter fantasy. There are no magic wands…there’s just work. Effort. Consistency. It’s easy to want to do something…it’s more of a challenge to formulate a plan. A dream is just a pretty picture trapped in our heads until we take the time to mold them into reality. Let’s get to work.
Musical Monday, featuring Carter Burwell.
Check out this mellow tune and add a dash of peace and melody to your day. Cheers!
We Love You So, from Where the Wild Things Are.
Essential Egon.
Library Lusting.
There are many great combos in life; french fries and ketchup, Batman and Robin, coffee and my mouth, and (drum roll, please) books and sunshine. It’s the perfect pairing, and this room is a comfortably complete addition to that grouping. It tidily intersects natural lighting with a handsomely useful workspace, and then throws in the mother of all reading nooks for good measure. Who wouldn’t love to nestle in that monstrous window seat with a good glass of something, and just disappear into a few hundred pages (or into the view, which I’m imagining is stellar)? And a fireplace, too? C’mon, it doesn’t get any better. This, my friends, is most certainly a book lover’s room.
Poetry – Walls.
Walls; we’ve all got them, right? I’m not talking about the kind of walls that we hang our pictures on, but the ones that we create for ourselves. Our mental barriers that, oddly enough, can often be stronger than the ones that line our humble abodes. For many reasons, we construct walls to keep stuff in, or to keep stuff out. Some are based on past experiences, while many are raised by fears. Either way, they’re ultimately a hindrance; they prevent a freedom of true expression. We will atrophy behind them, thinking that we’re protected, until we earn our release. Let’s get out of there, right? Think about it. Best of days to all, and thanks for reading!
