Poetry – Seasons.

It’s summer here…and it’s hot.  Seasons change; and the older we get, the faster they seem to go, right?  But one thing’s for certain…the cycle of seasons will continue.  Life goes on.  And what a beautiful cycle it all is (even though autumn is the BEST), so let’s enjoy each sweaty (or frosty, depending on where you are) moment.  Read on if you’d like, and best of days to all.

SnowPorn.

Two words…this view.  This.  View.  For a lover of all things minimal, snowy, and mountainous (I am that person), this is the place.  Place yourself (the daydream begins here) in front of that slender, expansive window, looking out into the immensity of that horizon, and clear away all of the…well, just clear it all away.  Sit back and relax.  Enjoy the view.  And go get some coffee while you’re at it.

Light your fire, grab your coffee (or wine), snag your book…and cozy up to the warmth of this week’s great wintry space.

Essential Egon.

There is a distinct sense of bravery and exploration in children that we can all learn from.  Check out this great piece from Egon Schiele.

Children, 1910.

Essential Egon is a weekly post dedicated to celebrating the work of a fearless artist who was capable of translating the colors of the human soul. Check him out.

Quotes – The Summit.

Dreams and goals…how important are these elements in our daily lives?  How important are they with regard to our growth (personal/professional/everything in between)?  Very.  We all have our own distinct light at the end of the tunnel that we’re trekking toward; our own summit that we’re seeking.  Despite the pitfalls that will inevitably emerge, we owe it to ourselves to endure.  The end point is there for those who aren’t afraid to pursue it.  Best of days to all.

Poetry – The Sky.

Sometimes you need to just stop what you’re doing, take a few deep breaths, and look up at the sky.  Let its colors cleanse the palette of your mind.  Put down the phone (unless you’re using it to read this post, wink wink), close the laptop, turn off the computer…or the TV…and relax.  Unplug.  It tends to put things into perspective for me…maybe it will for you too.  Best of days to you all, and thank you for reading.

Library Lusting.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to sleep in a library?  Apparently, so did the owners of this week’s space.  And what a lovely dream that they’ve manifested; from this photo alone, it’s pretty obvious that they love books.  To such a degree that they’ve lined their bedroom with them…now that’s love.  If only all of that information would cascade down over the shelves each night, like a storm of words, and fill one’s head with all of their wisdom.  This, friends, is a book lover’s room.

Poetry – Endurance.

Survival is a beautiful thing.  As is endurance.  This race that we’re all on is a challenging thing; it can eat us up and tear us down just as quickly as it can build us up and see us to the finish line. Our perspectives matter.  Heart matters.  Courage matters.  These building blocks create a focus and a drive that kicks into high gear when survival mode emerges.  We all have it inside of us already, this gritty determination.  The instinct to not only survive, but to thrive, is already there.  Let’s let it shine through.

Best of days to all!
