SnowPorn.

Some spaces try do a lot with a little, while others attempt to accomplish the minimal…and end up over doing it.  Others meet that fine balance at the halfway mark.  I’d like to think that this week’s space is up to the task of achieving that desired balance.  Clean lines meet warm comfort, and that sweet spot is complemented gently by a quaint little fire and just enough open window to give the owners a perfect glimpse of winter.  Serve me up a cup of coffee and I’m there.  Let the daydreams commence.

Light your fire, grab your coffee (or wine), snag your book…and cozy up to the warmth of this week’s great wintry space.

Library Lusting.

Ok, so this room isn’t 100% my perfectly brewed cup of tea, but it is important to highlight the qualities and characteristics of different spaces.  This week’s selection is definitely of the old, almost baroque style; heavy, ornate wood, lots of gold and shiny little accents and accouterments, and an overall density and stout robustness that screams quality craftsmanship.  So it’s a solid room, to say the least, reminiscent of the smoking/card playing rooms that appear in the classic movies.  And hey, it’s chock full of books and a sweet spiral staircase.  It doesn’t get much better than that.  Let the daydreams commence.

Library Lusting.

This week’s space is somewhat of a cross between Library Lusting and SnowPorn; we have all of the wintry goodness of one, coupled with the literary beauty of the other.  This room is a neat little mix of rugged, rustic charm, with just enough of each element to keep it minimal and yet still comfortable at the same time.  That’s a hard combination to achieve.  And c’mon…snow, a stout little potbelly stove, and books just go together like peanut butter and jelly.  Give me a hot cup of coffee and I’m set.  Let the daydreams commence.
