Something about this week’s space conjures warmth. Warm, calm feelings. Afternoon sunshine, coffee, tea, friends and family. It’s a simple space with small, thoughtful details, subtle accouterments, and large glass, allowing the nature to slip in seamlessly. There’s quiet here, and peace. And books. Let the daydreams commence.

This week’s space conjures up a tropical vibe, and I’d say that it’s more than just the addition of the potted plant that contributes to that ambiance. It could be just me, but I’m reminded of a warm, sunlit terrace on a summer afternoon…surrounded by an ocean of books. It’s a great space, with a few clever parallels; the heavy, rustic elements play very well alongside the fragility of the books, and the sunlight adds a splash of color that gives life to the dense, cold stone. It’s a nice, tidy, quiet space to sit alone and collect the thoughts. This is indeed a book lover’s room…let the daydreams commence.

Certain rooms call for certain things, depending on differing tastes.  Some rooms liven up with various colors, others with specific design elements…while others come alive with whiskey and a cigar (or pipe).  This is that room.  It’s as if this room was carved out of a solid block of wood; fine, bold, rich, sturdy construction, elegant accoutrements, and a supple leather sofa add up to a high degree of refinement.  With books galore and subtle, understated (but sufficient) lighting, this room is perfect for reading, smoking, or taking a nip out of the old tumbler.  This is most certainly a book lover’s room.  Let the daydreams commence.

I’ll admit it; many of the spaces featured here each week are not quite (ok, not at all) immediately attainable for the normal folks like myself.  But…that’s where the daydream aspect comes into play.  However, it’s fun to feature more true to life spaces when I come across them.  This week’s space is just that.  Attainable, asthetic, fun, colorful, unique, creative, bold, and bright.  I threw all of those words at it because it is a great example of how a love of books can visually transform a room and provide deep character.  This is definitely a book lover’s room.  Let the daydreams commence.

Some rooms are useful, and some rooms are fun…often, they’re both.  This week’s selection is a perfect marriage of the two, complete with clean lines, high ceilings, ample sunlight, a gang of reading material, and the best part?  A built in netted nook to take in the relaxed vibes and soak up the lazy, laid back ambiance.  Let the daydreams commence.

Size, sunlight, and class…this space has it all.  A monumental double height room, flooded with ample natural light and stacked to the rafters with books (and a neat little workspace tucked away on the upper level), this is the ultimate getaway from the noise and stressors of the world.  The perfect place to relax, release, and rebound.  Let the daydreams commence.

I could run through quite a few hours here, lost in thought.  Clean lines, fresh, open air, lush, wooded horizon, and minimal details lead to one clean, relaxed ambiance.  It’s the perfect place to kick back, close your eyes, and find your peace…as well as the ideal place to post up, open your eyes, and appreciate the immense beauty of the world.  Oh, and the snow is awesome, too.

Light your fire, grab your coffee (or wine), snag your book…and cozy up to the warmth of this week’s great wintry space.

We grab our selected books…we kick back with our drink of choice…and then we ooze into a soft chair and dive eyes first into the beautiful sea of words.  How awesome would it be if this were the room, and these were the chairs?  I was instantly drawn to this room due to its hidden fort sort of vibe; it has a rugged and rustic charm that plays well with the simplicity of its added comforts.  A quaint, sturdy little space seemingly tucked away gently from the rest of the home, plush chairs nestled under a sunlit window, and an army of books standing at attention.  I’ll take it.  This is a book lover’s room.
