I dreamed of you again, but
this time you didn’t return with
me-
I asked the sun where you were,
and the moon…
they only smiled and pointed
in all directions-
everywhere, they silently implied-
Everywhere-
I looked around then, and saw you
in the ruggedness of the rocks,
resilient and strong and robust,
your cracks a beautiful disturbance..
I saw you in the elegance of the trees,
the wind dancing through the leaves
like fingers through your hair,
your shape made lovely by the
lines of your growth-
I saw you in the sky,
an ever evolving painting
whose brilliance knows no end-
I asked the sun where you were, and the
moon…they smiled, and so did I.

He painted the surface of the
moon with doubt,
and filled each crater with tears,
as his breath painted the night sky with
mist spewed into the chill of winter,
fast and frantic and desperate-
he knelt in the snow and prayed,
and prayed,
and waited…
the sun dried his face clean,
and taught him the power of words
and the truth behind them,
of expression, and the freedom
that it dealt,
of self belief,
and the healing that it sows,
of change, and the foundation that it
constructs-
one foot on the ground and another
on the mountain,
perched tall on the moon while gazing
at mars,
always searching ahead for the next
challenge,
preparing for the next battle,
dreaming of the next hurdle,
planning the next adventure
and refusing to settle for less…
all while savoring each second
of the present*

Meet me where the blue sky ends,
where the tree line tumbles into the arms
of tomorrow-
meet me where the citrus sun kisses the
earth on its slow retreat,
the blue place where the moon yawns and
rises each night from its slumber-
meet me at the point of imagination,
the spot where wonder blends with
awe,
where there is no beginning,
no end…
meet me at the point where all things
are possible,
those beautiful coordinates that
tie all paths together-
lose yourself with me on those roads-
meet me where the sky ends…
walk beside me on that trail,
and let us tumble together into the
arms of tomorrow*

One for the moon and two for the stars,
lips bound under the cover of dark winter skies-
they winked at us in a thatch of blue,
as our breath spilled into the world in a frozen
hush*
